We are a small team of landscape designers and construction specialists that care about the natural environment and how native gardens can help facilitate a connection to Australian landscapes. Our design approach aims to create balance and harmony with surrounding built environments, sensory connection to nature and usability based on clients’ lifestyles. Ben Saunders Landscapes gardens are inspired by the wild landscapes and indigenous plants of this region, and our design elements are informed by modern and postmodern landscape designers and architects. We specialise in native garden design, construction and plant selection. We bring this approach to help us create sustainable and enduring spaces that evolve over time.

Ben grew up in north-east Melbourne suburbs in a family where curiosity about art, botany and the natural world were always valued, and he brings this world view to his designs and construction. Ben started his professional life as a graphic designer, then took this design experience and education with him as he endeavoured on a career change that would connect him more with Australian landscapes. In 2012 Ben completed a Landscape Design postgraduate certificate at The University of Melbourne Burnley Campus. Inspired by local contemporaries such as Sam Cox and Fiona Brockoff, Ben has continued to pursue a focus on native gardens in his design and construction.
